Security First
The time is approximately 23:15 on March 16, 2020. The conversion from WP and the development of a Django site, at least the initial development of the site, is finally complete. My definition of initially complete includes eliminating the obvious security flaws, designing an attractive UI, and providing a method for you to easily communicate back to me. If you notice anything that violates these three initial ideas, please let me know. "Security First" as a principle occurred to me as an ideal place to begin. If I were to evaluate a site to determine if it were worth my precious, unknown remaining number of moments in life, I would want to see content that brings me value. Additionally, I would like to see action to back up the words. To put it slightly differently, a site that talked security but demonstrated less than admirable best practices would be a hard pass for me. Given the late hour and off the cuff nature of this latest post, I won't needlessly tie up more of your time than necessary to make my introduction. I'll leave you with a few thoughts on where we might go from here. First, to ensure quality content, I intend to reach out to individuals that I believe possess the ability to bring insightful, relevant, and informative topics to consider. It is no small coincidence that the first two people that came to mind teach in this domain. Second, additional site functionality including submission pages for new authors, the ability to comment on individual posts, and searching and linking based on the current tags are the initial [glaring] missing parts. Third and finally, I would like to build a community of respectful persons that share an interest in educating all who may be interested to learn more from passionate people in their respective domain. I appreciate you reading this far and I hope to hear from you soon.
